Features Buffalo Soldier Marley Coffee
The first of the coffees we tested was the Lively U, a medium roast, organic, and five bean blend.
This 2nd Buffalo Soldier Marley Coffee is a light French roast of various beans, including Ethiopian, combined with beans from Indonesia and Central America.
As always, we ground the coffee beans fresh, brewed the coffee, let it cool for a few minutes, and then tasted it back.
Buffalo Soldier Marley Coffee is a top-quality coffee. None of that blend smack to the palate you get with very much supermarket coffee. There is subtlety here—tons of interesting tones.
The overall sense of a mid-strength coffee. It’s by no means mild, but nor is it a hard-hitting dark roast bean.
As with several stronger brews, there’s a slight bitterness there, but it is not harsh.
The bitterness is paired with a sweet punch. And as you roll the coffee in your mouth, you get a punch of fruit as well.
Consider it the coffee equivalent of high-quality dark chocolate, with just a hint of citrus rinds embedded in the chocolate.
We love it. The flavour is clean and rich, without being harsh. And within the strength, you get a few subtleties as well.
And it is not simple to combine strength and subtlety in one blend.
